7th Annual Forum

On behalf of the management and staff of the Agency, and on my own behalf, I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to all those who contributed to making the 7th Annual Internal Audit Forum 2012 held at the Accra International Conference Centre from 23rd-24th August 2012 a wonderful success.

We are grateful for the inspiring words delivered on behalf of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama by the Hon. Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo at the Opening Ceremony.

The Internal Audit Agency's vision, through the professional practice of internal auditing, ties our productivity to the national vision for exemplary, transparent and good governance in all facets of Ghana's public service operations and management. The coordinated social & economic programmes included a goal for Ghana to become a middle income country with a per capita income of US$1,000 in just a few years. The nation's ability to meet and exceed this goal will depend largely on the collective will, dedication and commitment to high levels of performance management by all the arms of government supported by the private sector and civil society.

It is in the context of this that we believe this year's theme attracted over 700 public sector officials ranging from Political Appointees and elected officials, CEOs, Chief Directors, Heads of Departments as well as Internal Auditors. The feedback we received indicates that the topic was quite appropriate and timely.
