As part of its activities in repositioning public sector internal audit practice, Management of the Agency under the leadership of the Director-General, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, held four (4) meetings with selected Heads of Internal Audit Units (IAUs) from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on 29th -30th July 2020. The Director-General led the meetings with presentations on the “Introduction and Purpose of the Meeting”. He highlighted the following within the purpose of the meetings: Introduction and sharing of the Vision of the New Leadership to the IAUs; Discussion on the Current Challenges Facing Internal Auditors; Sharing Experiences and Agreeing on Solutions for Effective Functioning Internal Audit Practice; Improving Protection and Job Security for Internal Auditors; Promoting Professionalism in Internal Audit Practice; Improving Relationships Between IAA, IAUs and Audit Committees; Soliciting Inputs to enrich Repositioning and Restructuring Agenda; and Receiving Feedback from IAUs, Management and Public Accounts Committee (PAC).The participants raised a number of concerns which were addressed by the Director-General and Management during the open fora after the presentations. The meetings which were well attended by one hundred and seven (107) Heads of IAUs were largely successful. The Agency will continue this activity with two (2) more meetings with selected Heads of IAUs from the MDAs to be held on 3rd August 2020.
