Public Relations

In order to perform its function of communicating with the Agency’s stakeholders, investors and the public, the PR Unit has set the under listed goals:

  • Create, maintain, enhance and protect the Agency’s reputation.
  • Create goodwill for the Agency.
  • Present a favourable image of the Agency.
  • Educate certain audiences (media, stakeholders and the public) about things relevant to the Agency, new legislation as well as overcome misconceptions and prejudices.

The PR Unit undertakes the following activities.

  • Internal Communication. The unit under this activity serves as a channel of top to bottom information flow between Management and staff.
  • Management of the Agency’s Social Media Platforms.
  • Production of the Agency’s internal and external publications. The PR strives to ensure a well-informed workforce on the daily activities of the Agency by publishing a weekly IAA Internal Newsletter which highlights all the activities the Agency undertakes during the week. For the publication of the IAA Internal Newsletter, the Unit collates information on Audit Committees and other meetings that staff from the various Divisions attend during the week and incorporates them into the Newsletter.
  • The Unit researches on topics on internal auditing and integrates them into the Newsletter to enrich the knowledge base of staff in the internal audit function. Research is also carried out on critical health issues and fused into the Newsletter.
  • The Unit gathers information on activities to be undertaken in the subsequent week and brings them to the attention of management and staff in the Newsletter.
  • On a half-yearly basis, the Unit comes out with the IAA Journal which is circulated to the Agency’s key stakeholders, Internal Auditors in the various Covered Entities.
  • Draws management’s attention to any publication in the media which may impact on the Agency.
  • Provides feedback reactions of the public on management programmes and policies.
  • Provides inputs into the Agency’s Annual Work Plan.
  • Updates the Agency’s website.
  • Advises management on the Agency’s public engagements
  • Liaise with the media on issues of internal audit.
  • Cover and report on official programmes of the Agency.
  • Prepare for publication various communiqué, press releases and other information about the operations of the Agency.
  • Act as a media liaison officer of the Agency.
  • Perform the protocol functions of the Agency.
  • Protect the external image of the Agency.
  • With the approval of Management, provide responses to issues bordering on public sector internal audit.
