On the 20th August, 2024, the Agency held a Media briefing at its office premises. The press briefing was a pre-cursor to the 2024 Annual Internal Audit Conference.
The briefing was opened by the Director-General of the Agency, Dr. E.O. Osae. He shared the purpose of the briefing and welcomed the media to the new office of the Agency.
Mr. Joseph Winful, Board Chairman of the Internal Audit Agency Board shared the mandate of the Agency with the Media. He spoke on the upcoming 2024 Annual Internal Audit Conference and elaborated on the conference theme “Consolidating Democratic Governance and Accountability; Role of Internal Auditors”.
The theme, the Board Chairman stated summarizes the essence of good financial governance in any serious democracy. Among other things Mr. Winful spoke on the role played by Internal Auditors in the governance space, shared the success stories of the Agency and challenges the Agency is faced with currently.
Professor Adom Frimpong, a member of the Internal Audit Board also made a presentation, he shared on saving made from irregularities and commended the work of Internal Auditors across the Public Sector.
The media after the brief interacted with the Board and Management of the Agency and interviewed a number of them to clarify some issues they were briefed on.
