The Internal Audit Agency, in collaboration with the World Bank, GIZ, and the European Union, organized a sensitization workshop for staff from Internal Audit Units across various regions of the country. The workshop focused on the Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT) and was held on January 27, 2025 concurrently across the regions of the Country.
The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce participating institutions to the PFMCLT, its key indicators, and the methodology for assessing and ranking their compliance. This initiative aims to enhance public financial management practices and promote accountability in the use of resources across institutions.
In Accra, Mr. Nathan Yankey represented the Director-General and officially opened the programme by delivering the Director-General’s address. He subsequently made presentations on the PFMCLT, explaining its significance and implementation processes.
Similarly, in Ho, Mrs. Lily Martha Nunoo, on behalf of the Director-General, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, formally opened the workshop. Her address emphasized the importance of effective public financial management and resource accountability.
A practical session was held to familiarize participants with the PFMCLT indicators. Attendees were taken through the processes involved in the PFMCLT and introduced to the key indicators that will be utilized in the monitoring exercises nationwide. This hands-on approach ensured that participants gained a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements and assessment methodologies.
The workshop served as a crucial platform for knowledge-sharing and capacity-building among internal auditors, reinforcing their roles in ensuring fiscal discipline and transparency within their respective institutions. It also gave the participants a fair idea of what to expect from the monitoring teams when they call upon their institutions.
