TRAINING PROGRAMME AT NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION AUTHORITY

The Enterprise Risk Management Directorate (ERMD) of the Internal Audit Agency conducted a training and capacity-building programme in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for staff of the National Identification Authority (NIA).

In his opening remarks, the Acting Executive Secretary of NIA, Mr. Mahama Suleiman Salihu, expressed his gratitude to the Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae. He indicated that it was a pleasure for the Authority to have the Agency facilitate training on Enterprise Risk Management Training (ERM) for staff of the Authority.

He noted that the training was intended to provide staff of the Authority with the requisite capacity and risk management tools to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

The Deputy Director-General (TFO) of IAA, Dr.  Cynthia A. Sallah who represented the Director-General, expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the National Identification Authority for their interest in the Agency’s institutional support.  She noted that Risk Management helps Covered Entities to become more prepared for existing, new, or challenging risks. She further observed that Risk Management helps Covered Entities to better understand opportunities and threats.

In her concluding remarks, Dr. Sallah indicated that the onus lies with the Ag. Executive Secretary of the NIA to establish an effective risk management system as provided for in Section 7 (2) of the Public Financial Management Act 2016, (Act 921).

The training programme took place from 21st – 24th January 2025 at the Professor Ernest Dumor Conference room of the Authority and was facilitated by the Ag. Director, TRME, Mr. Senanu Mensah and the Head of ERM, Mr. Quatada Nashiru Mohammed. They were supported by Mr. Robert Logosu, an Assistant Audit Manager.
