A training on Audit Working Papers was held for all technical staff of the Internal Audit Agency on the 5th and 6th July 2023. The 2-days training programme was held at the Platinum Bay Hotel at Abokobi, Accra. The training was supported by GIZ.
The purpose of the training was to provide technical staff with the tools and competencies needed to ensure appropriate Audit documentations in line with International Standards and requirements of the Internal Audit Regulations of Ghana 2011 (L.I. 1994). The training provided an opportunity for staff to share practical experiences and best practices with each other.
The training was opened by Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, the Deputy Director-General (FASS) on behalf of the Director-General. He welcomed all to the training program and stressed on the importance of Audit Working papers and the need for staff of the Agency to be trained on Working Paper Management. In attendance were the Director of Training, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (TRME) Mr. Benjamin Adjetey and Director of Finance and Corporate Planning (FCP) Mrs. Mercy Offei Koranteng.
Mr. Kweku Lartey Obeng, Component Manager of GIZ in his remarks thanked the IAA for the effort and collaboration to train Internal Auditors Nationwide and technical staff of the Agency on Working Papers which he said, will be beneficial in the discharge of their duties. He concluded that from the donor’s perspective, the training was a very good exercise, and they were happy to be part of it and sponsors of it.
Staff were taken through a presentation on working paper management to equip them with the theoretical aspect of working papers. They were also engaged in the practical aspects of working papers which included group exercises, discussions and presentations.
