MASLOC Audit Committee Inaugurated to Strengthen Governance

The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) on 25th February 2026 inaugurated its Audit Committee as part of efforts to reinforce institutional governance, accountability, and financial oversight.

The ceremony was officially opened by the Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC, Mrs. Abigail Elorm Mensah, who emphasized the importance of the Audit Committee in promoting transparency, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring prudent management of public resources. She noted that effective oversight structures remain critical to sustaining public trust and enhancing organizational performance.

The Audit Committee was inaugurated by the Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee. In his address, he underscored the statutory role of Audit Committees in supporting sound corporate governance and ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations. He encouraged members of the Committee to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, independence, and integrity.

The inauguration marks a significant step in MASLOC’s commitment to strengthening accountability mechanisms and aligning with public financial management and governance requirements.

The Internal Audit Agency continues to collaborate with covered entities to promote effective governance structures and best practices in internal auditing across the Public Service.
