The Deputy Director-General for Finance and Administration (FASS), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, swore in the members of the Audit Committee of the Electricity Corporation of Ghana (ECG) on 7th April, 2026. The ceremony was chaired by the Board Chairman of the Company, Ing. William Amuna. It was also attended by other Board members and the Managing Director, Mr. Kwame Kpekpena.

In his address, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey stated that the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, 2016 outlines the roles of the Audit Committee. He urged members to familiarize themselves with its provisions. He also mentioned that the Annual Statement of the Audit Committee is due for submission by the end of June 2026.

In his closing remarks, Ing. Amuna urged the Committee to work diligently, noting that when ECG performs well, it reflects positively on the country. He asked for the Committee’s guidance to help prevent the Company from appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) due to infractions. Instead, he emphasized that if ECG ever appears before the PAC, it should be for commendation.
