IN-DEPTH FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT REVIEW OF THE LANDSCAPE RESTORATION AND SMALL-SCALE MINING PROJECT
The Internal Audit Agency was requested by the World Bank to do an in-depth fiduciary review of a project preparatory fund given to the Government. of Ghana (GoG). The main objective of the assignment was to obtain assurance that the funds provided are being used for the intended purposes and in the most efficient manner that ensures compliance with the World Bank’s Fiduciary Guidelines and as per the Government of Ghana’s Financial
Management Regulation. The review covered activities and expenditure incurred or paid for during the period April 2019 to December 2020.
The assignment was executed by Messers Nathan Yankey, the Director of Operations, Samuel Gyekye-Mensah, Head of the Specialized Training and Research Unit, Seth Anaglate, a Principal Manager with the Finance Section and Vug Nanke, a Senior Manager with the Operations Divisions.
They were supported by Mr Bismark Osebre, a National Service
Personnel and Miss Gloria Myers, a NABCO Personnel. The IAA team held an exit meeting with the World Bank, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and management of the Project Coordinating Unit on 17th February 2021 where a draft report was presented to stakeholders.
