On 24th March 2026, the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Adentan Municipal Assembly (ADMA) at the Assembly’s Conference Hall. Hon. Christine Ella Esinam Nongo, the Municipal Chief Executive, opened the ceremony by welcoming participants and emphasizing the Committee’s critical role in strengthening governance.
Mr. Samuel Gyekye-Mensah delivered the inaugural address on behalf of the Ag. Director-General of the IAA. Membership included representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), the IAA, and the Municipal Assembly. This diverse representation ensures a blend of technical expertise and local oversight to guide financial reporting and internal audit processes within the Municipality.
During proceedings, Mr. Isaac Nanoa was elected Chairperson of the Committee. In his acceptance remarks, he expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and pledged to foster a spirit of collaboration among Committee members.
In her closing remarks, the MCE congratulated the newly constituted Committee and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the Committee’s work. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between management and the Audit Committee to ensure effective oversight and timely reporting. The inauguration reflects IAA’s continued efforts to strengthen governance, enhance accountability, and support the development of robust audit structures across covered entities.
