Mr. Hayford Dowuona-Hammond of the Office of the Director-General, Internal Audit Agency (IAA), acting on behalf of the Ag. Director-General, Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, swore in the maiden Audit Committee of the Nursing and Midwifery Training College – Teshie (NMTC) on 20 May 2026.
In her remarks, Mrs. Aisha Sena-Iddrissu, Principal of the College, provided an overview of the institution’s operations. She stated that the College operates in accordance with the provisions of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), which mandates all covered entities to establish Audit Committees. She further explained that the inauguration of the College’s maiden Audit Committee was undertaken in fulfillment of Section 88 of the Act.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the Acting Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Dowuona-Hammond stated that the nominated members possess extensive governance experience and would be well positioned to support the College in fulfilling its mandate. He further urged the Committee to support the Internal Auditor in the preparation and submission of quarterly reports.
He outlined the timelines for the submission of statutory quarterly internal audit reports and called on management to support the work of the Audit Committee.
