The Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, swore in the newly appointed Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah during a brief ceremony held in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Finance. The event was attended by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Rev. Dr. Patrick Nomo, the outgoing Director-General, Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, as well as members of the Management team of the Internal Audit Agency.
Mr. Dumbah succeeds Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, the former Director-General of the IAA, who retired from active service on 8 June 2026.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Nyarko Ampem acknowledged the significant challenges confronting the internal audit practice and urged the new Director-General to work diligently to minimise the incidence of financial and administrative infractions while promoting sound public financial management practices across the public sector.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Dumbah pledged to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to strengthen accountability and enhance effective governance. He noted that this commitment lines up with and will advance the President’s agenda of promoting accountable governance across the public sector.
