On 23 September 2026, Mr. Seth Anaglate, Director of Operations at the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), swore in the Audit Committee of the National Insurance Commission (NIC) on behalf of the Acting Director-General, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah.
The Acting Commissioner of the institution, Madam Abiba Zachariah, who joined the ceremony virtually, in her opening remarks, commended the outgoing Audit Committee for its invaluable guidance to Management, particularly in identifying and addressing areas of concern. She assured the incoming Committee members of Management’s full support and collaboration as they undertake their mandate. Madam Zachariah emphasised that the effectiveness and efficiency of the Committee’s work are integral to strengthening the operations and overall development of the NIC.
Following the administration of the Oaths of Office and Secrecy, Prof. Emeritus Ato Ghartey was elected Chairman of the Committee. He expressed his appreciation to fellow Committee members for electing him as Chairperson and pledged to work closely with them to advance and deliver on the NIC’s mandate.
In a speech delivered on behalf of Mr. Dumbah, Mr. Anaglate noted that the absence of any outstanding audit recommendations demonstrated Management’s commitment to and seriousness about the internal audit function.
The Director of Operations highlighted the Committee’s key mandatory and advisory roles, including following up on the implementation of audit recommendations and providing guidance on risk management and sound financial management practices. He encouraged members to continue providing valuable advisory support to Management, with the aim of further strengthening internal controls at NIC.
