The Acting Deputy Director-General for Finance, Administration and Support Services (FASS) of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, swore in the Audit Committee of the National Teaching Council on 8th October 2026, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah.
In his address, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey congratulated the members and highlighted the committee’s role in ensuring that the Council’s resources are utilised in accordance with applicable laws. He emphasised adherence to the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, compliance with reporting timelines and timely submission of required reports. He also urged management to provide the committee with the necessary support for effective functioning.

Following the inauguration, Madam Regina Mensah Onumah was elected Chairperson of the Audit Committee. In her acceptance remarks, she expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her and pledged the committee’s commitment to minimising financial infractions and working in the best interest of the country.

In his closing remarks, the Registrar of the Council, Dr Christian Addai-Poku, thanked the Agency for its support and welcomed the new members, assuring them of management’s full cooperation. He also acknowledged the Board Chair’s continued support and commended the committee’s role in promoting accountability.
