On 19th February 2026, the Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA). The ceremony underscores the Agency’s commitment to
promoting transparency, accountability, and sound governance within Ghana’s road sector. The newly inaugurated Audit Committee will oversee the Authority’s financial and operational activities, ensure compliance with public financial management regulations, and strengthen internal control systems.
Addressing the Audit Committee members, Mr. Thompson-Aryee emphasized the importance of Audit Committees in safeguarding public resources and building public trust. The ceremony brought together officials from the Internal Audit Agency and the Ghana Highways Authority, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening accountability within the public sector.
The inauguration marks a significant step towards strengthening governance frameworks at the Authority and enhancing responsible stewardship of public resources.
