In line with efforts to reinforce accountability and good governance across public institutions, the Deputy Director-General, FASS of the Internal Audit Agency, Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, on 20th February 2026, inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Ministry of Education.
The inauguration forms part of the Agency’s mandate to ensure the effective functioning of Audit Committees within covered entities, as required under the Public Financial Management framework. In his remarks, the Deputy Director-General, FASS, emphasized the critical role of Audit Committees in promoting transparency, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing financial discipline within public sector institutions.
He encouraged members of the Committee to execute their responsibilities with diligence, objectivity, and a strong commitment to upholding sound governance practices. The ceremony underscored the continued collaboration between the Internal Audit Agency and the Ministry of Education in advancing effective financial management and institutional accountability.
The establishment of the Audit Committee marks another important step toward strengthening oversight mechanisms and supporting the Ministry’s operational efficiency.
