The Internal Audit Agency (IAA) virtually inaugurated the Audit Committee of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) on 15 July 2026, at the Agency’s Conference Room. The Committee was sworn into office by the Deputy Director-General for Finance, Administration and Support Services (DDG-FASS), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, on behalf of the Director-General, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah. The ceremony was graced by the management of IAA and CCTU, and members of the newly constituted Audit Committee.
Delivering his speech, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey urged the University’s management and the Audit Committee to work closely to ensure the timely implementation of recommendations from internal auditors, the Auditor-General and the Public Accounts Committee, in line with the Public Financial Management Act. He further encouraged the Committee to discharge its responsibilities diligently to help prevent audit irregularities and enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the University’s operations.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Richard Ntim was elected Chairman of the Audit Committee. In his acceptance remarks, he pledged the Committee’s commitment to work collaboratively with management to resolve outstanding audit issues and build on the work of the outgoing Committee.
In his closing remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of CCTU, Professor Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, reaffirmed management’s commitment to supporting the work of the Internal Audit Unit and partnering with the Audit Committee to strengthen governance and advance the University’s vision. He also expressed appreciation to both the outgoing and incoming Audit Committees for their service and commitment to the Technical University.
