The Acting Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah, inaugurated the Audit Committee of the National Youth Authority (NYA) on 9th October 2026. The ceremony was attended by the Authority’s Deputy CEO for Operations and Programmes, Mr. Inusah Mahama, and Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration, Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Mahama congratulated members of the newly constituted Committee and highlighted its advisory role in financial management, internal controls and risk management. He urged members to promote transparency and accountability to help prevent the Authority from appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). He also assured them of Management’s support in carrying out their responsibilities.
Mr. Dumbah urged the Committee to discharge its mandate effectively and in accordance with the law. He emphasised the importance of internal auditing in strengthening internal controls, promoting efficiency and preventing financial irregularities. He further stressed that auditing should serve as an assurance function rather than a tool for witch-hunting and called for effective collaboration between the Committee and the Internal Audit Unit.
Following the inauguration, the Committee elected Mr. Egyir as its Chairman. In his acceptance remarks, he thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work towards ensuring that the Authority would not appear before the PAC.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Adongo commended the outgoing Committee for its effective discharge of duties and reaffirmed Management’s commitment to supporting the newly constituted Committee.
