Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), on 12th September 2025, met with the Head of the Office of Local Government Service (OHLGS), Prof. Lord Mensah.
The meeting was to deliberate on strengthening audit compliance and addressing institutional challenges. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the two institutions to improve reporting processes and ensure adherence to audit requirements.
Key issues addressed included strategies to promote the timely submission of audit reports and the critical role of Management in facilitating this process. The meeting also emphasized the need for continuous capacity building for internal auditors and the development of structures to support effective governance, accountability, and transparency within institutions. Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, Deputy Director-General in charge of Finance, Administration and Support Services (FASS) and Ms. Susan Asiedu, Personal Assistant to the Ag. Director-General, attended the meeting.
