The Internal Audit Agency (IAA), in line with its mandate to strengthen the capacity of Internal Audit Staff across Covered Entities is conducting an onsite training programme on Risk-Based Internal Auditing (RBIA) for selected institutions. The training programme commenced on 29th September 2025 and is scheduled to end on 18th November 2025 in the Greater Accra Region. The training initiative will span two (2) days for each institution, and this is being sponsored by the European Union (EU).
The training, which is ongoing, is being facilitated by five (5) teams for selected MMDAs in the Eastern, Volta, and Oti Regions.
The purpose of the training is to equip Internal Audit Staff with the requisite skills and competencies to effectively perform risk-based internal audit services covering the financial and operational activities of the institutions. The training is also meant to introduce participants to risk-based internal audit principles and practices, hands-on sessions for applying RBIA in organizational contexts, and a better understanding of the internal control systems and risk management processes.
