The Internal Audit Agency (IAA) facilitated a training programme for Chairpersons of the Audit Committees on 25th September, 2025. Mr. T.A. Thompson-Aryee, the Ag. Director-General, in his opening remarks, implored participants to apply the knowledge they acquire in their duties.
The Acting Director of Technical, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (TRME), Mr. Senanu Mensah, delivered a presentation on the “Adoption of the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).”
He underscored the Internal Audit Agency’s mandate to lead the national adoption of the new International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and emphasized the effective date of January 9, 2025, for mandatory compliance by all Public Sector Internal Auditors.
Mr. Mensah highlighted the fifteen (15) guiding principles of the Standards, which focus on ethics, professionalism, governance, resource management, and audit service delivery. He assured participants of the Agency’s commitment to provide continuous training and guidance to ensure smooth adoption and alignment with global best practices.
