The Audit Committee of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC) was sworn in by Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), on 13th November, 2025. The Managing Director of the Company, Mr. John Sheriff Bawah, was the chairperson at the swearing-in. Mr. Samuel Atukwei Quaye, Deputy Managing Director, was in attendance.
Mr. Bawah remarked that IAA is critical to ensuring the operations of SHC are within the confines of statutory laws. He continued that with the assistance of the Audit Committee, the institution would fulfill its fiduciary responsibility towards the people of Ghana. He assured the Committee of management’s support for its work.
Mr. Thompson-Aryee, in delivering his speech, implored members of the Audit Committee to adhere to the dictates of the PFM Act 2016, which prescribes the Committee’s authority, functions, mandate, etc. He informed members of the amendments to the PPA Act and directives from the Ministry of Finance for Commitment Compliance Checklist Review Reports to be submitted by Heads of Internal Audit Units to the IAA on a quarterly basis.
