The Audit Committee of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC) was inaugurated by the Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas Thmpson-Aryee, on 18th November, 2025.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Mr. Willams Okofo-Dateh, was the chairperson of the inauguration. His two deputies, Mr. Philip Oppong Amponsah and Mr. Batiah Santi, were in attendance.
Delivering his speech, Mr. Thompson-Aryee stated that the Audit Committee is a value-adding governance system and should be embraced by all well-meaning heads of public institutions.
He made mention of reforms to the PPA Act that have resulted in the introduction of the Commitment Authorization by the Ministry of Finance. He explained that the approval of the Ministry of Finance should be sought before procurement of transactions beyond the threshold of the Entity Tender Committee can be undertaken.
