On behalf of the Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, delivered a speech at a Governance Forum organized by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) for Board, CEO, and CAE on 19th November, 2025. The theme for the Forum was “Governance Amidst Transition”.
The speech emphasized that effective corporate governance depends on strong collaboration among the Board, Management, Audit Committees, and Auditors. It highlighted legal frameworks, particularly the Companies Act 2019 and the Public Financial Management Act 2016, that define governance roles and strengthen oversight through Audit Committees. The Internal Audit Agency is developing a Governance Audit Manual to standardize governance audits across the public sector. The workshop’s focus on transition management was timely, as it helps institutions navigate leadership changes through inclusive, strategic processes. The speaker concluded with confidence that shared experiences from participants will help address governance and transition challenges in both public and private sectors.
