Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, Acting Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (OKNMA) on 24th November 2025. The event was chaired by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger, and attended by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Francis Mensah.
In his address, the Acting Director-General emphasized that the Audit Committee’s significance cannot be overstated. He encouraged the Committee to strictly comply with the requirements of the PFM Act 2016, Act 921, so that if the Assembly is ever called before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), it will be to receive commendation.
Mr. Thompson-Aryee referred to recent reforms to the PPA Act, which require entities to obtain Commitment Authorization from the Ministry of Finance for procurement transactions that exceed the Entity Tender Committee’s threshold.
