INTERGRITY IN ACTION: IAA SWEARS IN AUDIT COMMITTEE OF MoTAC

Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, Acting Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), formally swore in the Audit Committee of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) on 23rd April 2026. The event was chaired by Mr. Joseph Kwasi Amoah, Chief Director of the Ministry.

In his welcome address, the Chief Director stated that the inauguration was conducted in accordance with the PFM Act, 2016 (Act 921), with the aim of enhancing good governance across public institutions.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Thompson-Aryee commended the Ministry for its adherence to public financial management standards, as evidenced by the Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT) published by the Minister for Finance. He further encouraged Management to strive toward advancing from compliance to a level of high compliance.

He urged Management to provide the necessary support to the Internal Audit Function and to ensure that the Audit Committee convenes its quarterly meetings in accordance with the PFM Act. He also reminded the meeting that the Audit Committee’s Annual Report is due for submission by the end of June 2026.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Amoah assured the Committee of Management’s support and emphasized that teamwork is essential to the success of both the Audit Committee and the Ministry as a whole.
