Enhancing Sound Financial Management – IAA Inaugurates Audit Committee of NPRA

The Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, inaugurated the newly constituted Audit Committee of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) at a brief ceremony held on 23rd June, 2026.

The ceremony was chaired by the Board Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Ebenezer Ofori Agbettor. Among those present were the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Christopher Boadi- Mensah, and the Deputy CEO, Mr. Victor Azumah Majida.

In his address, Thomas Thompson-Aryee commended the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) for complying with the provisions of the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, 2016 (Act 921), and for being recognised as a PFM-compliant institution in the Ministry of Finance’s PFM League Table.

He further encouraged the Board, Management, and the Audit Committee to persevere in their efforts and strengthen compliance practices to ensure the Authority attains a higher ranking among the most compliant institutions in subsequent editions of the League Table.

The CEO of the Authority lauded the outgoing Audit Committee for their invaluable contributions to the institution and encouraged the newly constituted Committee to leverage their wealth of experience and expertise to support the Authority in effectively delivering on its mandate.

The Board Chairman thanked the outgoing Audit Committee for ensuring the timely submission of statutory reports and encouraged the incoming Committee to emulate the example.

Mr. Banahene, the representative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, was elected as Chairperson of the Committee.
