Reinforcing Good Governance– IAA Inaugurates NCCE Audit Committee

The Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, inaugurated the Audit Committee of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on 26th June 2026.

In her opening remarks, the NCCE Chairperson, Madam Kathleen Addy, expressed her enthusiasm about the Committee’s inauguration, noting that previous committees had been extremely helpful and maintained a strong track record. She also added that management looks forward to working closely with the newly inaugurated Committee.

Delivering his address, Mr. Thompson-Aryee emphasized that the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, as amended, requires all Audit Committee members to exercise discretion when transmitting information externally. He also highlighted the vital role of the Audit Committee in supporting effective governance and adding value to the work of the Commission.

Mr. Thompson-Aryee further noted that the Agency will engage with the NCCE on issues related to gender and expressed his hope for a long-standing, productive partnership between the two institutions.

Following his appointment as Chairperson of the newly inaugurated Committee, Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang thanked members of the Committee for the opportunity and pledged to add value to the organisation. He also pledged to work collaboratively with management and leverage the collective expertise of Committee members in advancing the Commission’s work.

In her closing remarks, Madam Addy reiterated her commitment to a successful collaboration with the Audit Committee and assured members of Management’s readiness to support their work.
