The Acting Deputy Director-General for Finance, Administration and Support Services (FASS) of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, inaugurated the Audit Committee of St. Louis College of Education in a virtual ceremony held on 5th October 2026, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah.

The Principal of the College, Prof. Theresa Antwi, commended the Committee members for accepting to serve and underscored the importance of the Committee in strengthening financial oversight at the College. She encouraged the Committee to work closely with Management and the Internal Audit Unit, particularly in ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations.

Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey urged the newly inaugurated Committee to uphold good governance and work closely with Management to address issues identified through internal audit and other monitoring reports. He emphasised that the Committee’s responsibilities are provided for under the Public Financial Management Act and encouraged members to ensure that the College’s workplan is fit for purpose.

He also described the Committee’s role as a partnership with Management in resolving issues and strengthening the College’s internal control and accountability systems.
Mr. Bismark Atwere was elected Chairman of the Committee and, in his acceptance remarks, pledged to work with members to discharge the Committee’s mandate and contribute to reducing infractions at the College.
In her closing remarks, Prof. Antwi congratulated the Committee members and assured them of the support of Management and Council. She also expressed confidence that the members’ experience would contribute meaningfully to the objectives of the College.
