The Acting Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah, inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Data Protection Commission (DPC) on 27th October 2026 to support effective internal auditing and strengthen internal controls at the Commission.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of the DPC, Dr. Arnold Kavaarpuo, expressed appreciation to the IAA for its support and emphasised the importance of internal auditing in promoting effective operations. He assured the Committee of Management’s commitment to working closely with its members to support the discharge of their responsibilities.
Mr. Solomon Wemegah was elected Chairperson of the Committee. In his acceptance address, he thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged that the Committee would work diligently to serve the country in accordance with the Public Financial Management (PFM) laws.
In his remarks, Mr. Dumbah congratulated the Chairperson and members on their appointments and urged them to ensure the timely submission of internal audit and Audit Committee reports. He also stressed the need to resolve identified audit issues by addressing their root causes and ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations.
He further encouraged collaboration between the Committee and Management to strengthen internal controls and improve the Commission’s operations.
