The Audit Committee of the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) was inaugurated on 10th July 2026 to enhance the organization’s operational oversight and governance framework. Representing the Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), the Deputy Director-General (FASS), Mr. Bismark Aborbi Ayitey facilitated the administration of the Oaths of Office and Secrecy.
During the welcome remarks by the Board Chairman, Okoamankra Kwame Akwonu X, he highlighted that the establishment of the Audit Committee is a significant step forward in ensuring the organization achieves its goals. The Board and Management pledged their full support and expressed a desire for strategic partnerships to foster a more resilient operational environment for the Fund.
In his remarks, Mr. Bismark Aborbi Ayitey commended the selection of members for their professional expertise and experience, urging Management to provide the necessary support to ensure the Committee effectively fulfills its mandate. He further encouraged members to maintain a close working relationship with the Internal Auditor and assist Management in implementing audit recommendations to ensure the Fund’s successful operations.
Mr. Godfred Ashiagbor, a member of the IAA Board, representing the Agency, was elected as the Chairman of the Committee. He assured both the Board and Management of the Committee’s commitment to progress, collaboration, and working as a cohesive team to achieve the Fund’s strategic objectives.
The CEO of the Fund, Mr. Prosper Hoetu reiterated Management’s willingness to cooperate fully with the Committee to help the institution reach new heights in addressing the needs of ordinary Ghanaians. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks delivered by the secretary, Ms. Adeline Naab Kunbour on behalf of the Board Chairman.
