IAA Embraces New Leadership– Outgoing DG Urges Staff to Support the Transition

The outgoing Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, announced during a staff durbar on Monday, 6th July 2026, that a substantive Director-General had been appointed to succeed him following his retirement. He called on staff to give their full support to the incoming Director-General to ensure a smooth leadership transition and sustain institutional growth.

Delivering his address, Mr. Thompson Aryee encouraged staff to invest in the new leadership and remain committed to advancing the Agency’s mandate, stressing that the continued growth of the IAA should remain a collective responsibility.

Mr. Thompson Aryee also called on staff to sustain ongoing institutional reforms, particularly the automation of the Agency’s systems, which he said would transform the Agency. He further urged staff to support efforts to transition the Agency into an Authority, and remain committed to advancing the Agency’s programmes and priorities.

At a subsequent staff durbar held on Friday, 10th July 2026, the outgoing Director-General, Mr. Thompson-Aryee, officially handed over to the incoming Director-General, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah.

In his address, Mr. Dumbah expressed appreciation for staff’s dedication under his predecessor’s leadership and urged them to embrace the transition. He affirmed his commitment to working with staff to advance the Agency’s mandate of promoting effective governance, efficiency and accountability in public service.
