Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee, Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency on the invitation of the Parliamentary Service made a presentation to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on 1st July, 2025 at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge. He was accompanied by Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, Ag. Deputy Director-General, FASS and Mr. Hayford Dowuona-Hammond, Deputy Director in charge of the Office of the Director-General.
Highlights of the presentation were as follows:
- Overview of the Internal Audit Agency
- Overview of internal controls systems in Covered Entities
- The formation, membership, roles, reporting and responsibilities of the Audit Committee as provided for under Sections 86-88 of the PFM Act, Regulations 220 and 223-229 of L.I. 2378, and part 8 of the Guidelines for Effective Functioning of Audit Committees.
The meeting concluded that the Internal Audit Agency will in future be invited to participate in PAC deliberations on the Auditor-General’s Report.
