As part of efforts to curb and reduce financial infractions in the 2025 fiscal year and beyond, the Hon. Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Forson, convened an urgent meeting on 22nd December 2025 between the Internal Audit Agency and Heads of the Internal Audit Function across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This meeting followed an earlier engagement on the same issue held on 18th December 2025. Proceedings were chaired by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Patrick Nomo.
The meeting focused on the following key issues.
- Implementation of the recommendations from the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report.
- Strategies to eliminate or reduce infractions highlighted in the 2025 Auditor-General’s Report.
- Ways to enhance the working relationship between Management and Internal Auditors.
The Internal Audit Agency was represented by the Ag. Director-General, Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, Deputy Director-General (FASS), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, Deputy Director-General (TFO), Dr. Cynthia Sallah and other Deputy Directors from the Agency.
