Driving Accountability: IAA Inaugurates Registrar General’s Audit Committee

On 22nd January 2026, the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) officially inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Registrar General’s Department, a key step in strengthening governance, accountability, and financial oversight within the institution.

In her goodwill address, the Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Grace Ama Issahaque, expressed confidence that the institution would greatly benefit from the establishment of the Audit Committee. She assured members of the institution’s full support, emphasizing Management’s commitment to working closely with the Committee to achieve its mandate, and congratulated the newly inaugurated members. The Committee was formally sworn in by Mr. Alhassan Fuseini, representing the Director-General. He highlighted the importance of confidentiality, urging members to handle all information, discussions, and documents with strict discretion and avoid involving third parties in Committee deliberations.

Members subsequently elected Mr. Nicholas Omaboe as Chairperson, who pledged to collaborate with management and fellow members to successfully deliver on the Committee’s mandate.

Mr. Fuseini further emphasized the Committee’s critical role in ensuring the timely submission of quarterly and annual Audit Committee reports, implementing recommendations, and adhering to Commitment Compliance Report deadlines. He concluded by congratulating the members and expressing confidence in their ability to work together effectively.
