The Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Thomas Ashaley Thompson-Aryee, paid a courtesy call on the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dr. Gameli Kewuribe Hoedoafia, at the IMCC Secretariat in Accra.
The engagement sought to deepen collaboration between the two institutions, with a focus on strengthening fiscal decentralisation and promoting sound financial governance at the sub-national level. Discussions highlighted the need to enhance accountability and effective financial oversight within Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), particularly amid increased government transfers to local authorities.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to sustained cooperation aimed at reinforcing fiscal discipline, strengthening local governance, and supporting national development through effective decentralisation.
