IAA Strengthens Governance at National Vaccine Institute with Audit Committee Inauguration

On 27th January 2026, the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) officially inaugurated the Audit Committee of the National Vaccine Institute (NVI), marking an important step toward strengthening governance, accountability, and financial oversight within the Institute. The ceremony brought together management of the NVI, representatives of the IAA, and key stakeholders.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Vaccine Institute, Dr. Sodzi-Tettey, welcomed participants and acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders supporting the Institute’s work. He described the NVI as a forward-looking institution and expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Audit Committee would play a vital role in promoting effective governance and advancing the Institute’s mandate.

The Committee was formally sworn in by Mr. Hammond D. Hayford, representing the Ag. Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency. All members took the oath of office, pledging to uphold integrity, confidentiality, and impartiality in the discharge of their duties, and formally assumed responsibility for providing independent oversight.

Following the swearing-in, the Committee elected Mr. Alhassan Fuseini as Chairperson. In his acceptance remarks, he thanked his colleagues and management for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work collaboratively to strengthen internal controls and ensure timely reporting. Mr. Hammond D. Hayford further emphasized the importance of adherence to reporting timelines and management’s continued support for the internal audit function to enhance accountability and prevent operational risks.
