The Acting Deputy Director-General (FASS) of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, inaugurated the Audit Committee of the Births and Deaths Registry on 8th October 2026, on behalf of the Acting Director-General, Mr. Conrad Z. Dumbah.
In his address, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey highlighted the Committee’s mandate to promote accountability, strengthen internal controls and ensure the implementation of audit recommendations.
Madam Ernestine T. Yemogo was elected Chairperson of the newly inaugurated Committee. In her acceptance remarks, she pledged that the Committee would work closely with the Registrar and management to resolve outstanding audit issues and improve the implementation of audit recommendations. The outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Ofori-Atta Kena, subsequently handed over the Committee’s records to Madam Yemogo.
The Head of the Registry, Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway, congratulated the newly inaugurated Committee members and commended the outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Kena, for his dedication and valuable contributions to the Committee.
