ANTI CORRUPTION GROUP INAUGURATED- IAA, A MEMBER INSTITUTION

At the inauguration of an anti-corruption group at Jubilee House on 3rd July, 2025, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah charged the working group which is responsible for drafting Ghana’s next National Anti-Corruption Strategy to develop a bold, ethical, and results-driven plan that reverses the country’s declining performance on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI). The Internal Audit Agency, which is part of the working group, had Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) II Focal Person, representing at the event.

Mr. Debrah acknowledged the achievements of the previous NACAP. He was however quick to highlight that despite some progress, corruption in the country has worsened in perception. He stressed that Ghana’s performance spiraled downwards from 48% on the CPI in 2014 to 42% by 2024.

He urged the group to ensure that the new strategy is different from the previous NACAP to enable the country achieve meaningful, sustainable results within the shortest possible time.

The Chief of Staff implored the working group to deliver a draft of the new strategy by 31st August 2025.
