IAA Inaugurates AESL Audit Committee to Enhance Accountability and Oversight

The Internal Audit Agency (IAA), on 18th June 2026, inaugurated the Audit Committee of Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) to strengthen accountability and oversight. The inauguration was performed by the Deputy Director-General (FASS), Mr. Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, on behalf of the Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Thomas A. Thompson-Aryee. The ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of AESL, Surv. Gordon Tanga, the Board Chairman, Ing. Kasser Ambrose Tee, and other senior Management staff.

In his opening remarks, Ing Tee noted that the establishment of the Audit Committee, in accordance with Section 86 of the Public Financial Management Act, marks an important step towards promoting transparency and accountability. He urged the Committee to support management in achieving its mandate while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Board Chairman reaffirmed Management’s commitment to supporting the Committee’s work and expressed confidence in its ability to build on the achievements of its predecessor. He further emphasized the Committee’s role in safeguarding the assets of AESL and advancing the organisation’s commitment to excellence and integrity.

Following the inauguration, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey urged members to view their appointment as an opportunity to serve Ghana through effective oversight and accountability. He emphasized the importance of protecting public resources and called on members to ensure the timely submission of Status of Implementation Reports and annual reports in line with existing directives and reporting requirements.
